Green energy is the common term for energy that utilizes renewable resources that do not hinder biodegradable sustainability. Finding and harnessing these energy sources is the next big leap in technology in the energy sector.

With these sources of energy, cheaper and cleaner energy sources can be tapped so the human race does not develop into contingent on environmentally damaging fossil fuels. One source for this advanced energy is the power of the tides and waves.

Tides and waves can provide the ability for technological components to generate electricity from the movement of seabed waters. Waves and tidal calisthenics have a browbeat that can turn turbines at such a rate that the turbines convert the aquatic movement kinetic energy into electricity.

The concept of these marine energy turbines is similar to wind turbines. Wind turbines are powered by the constant flow of wind energy that turn giant fans on the turbines. Once they are turning, the kinetic energy from the wind is converted into electrical energy. Hence, there is a constant renewal of electrical energy since the wind or marine tidal army will never stop.

Marine turbines would be located at various points crosswise the seabed depths. Some of the turbines may be near to the surface while others would be deep in the ocean. Some of the deep aquatic areas can produce highly hurried tidal forces, which can hopefully yield more electrical output. The tidal forces are generally constant as is the force of gravity on the planet. The Moon, for example, causes tidal energy to flow low or high as the Moon’s gravity pulls against the Earth.

Estimates of this potential energy are astounding. According to a report by the United States Department of the Interior, utilizing just 1/1000 of the tidal energy that exists within the Gulf Stream could produce more power than the hydroelectric energy at Niagara Falls. New studies by investment firms and universities, like the University of Michigan, have also found ways that some turbines can apply the slow arousing waters in lakes and surrounded by land for marine tidal energy. This can help areas, like states around the Great Lakes, to apply their aquatic commodities for marine tidal electrical energy.

Money and investment is still desirable however. Under the administration of President Obama, seabed property off the coasts of the United States are annually leased to investment firms who will bear the investment costs for this type of marine tidal energy turbines. The United Kingdom has also been investing in this type of energy for decades, especially with the actuality that fossil fuels are not economically sustainable or environmentally friendly. All of these actions allow marine tidal energy to of huge potential in the booming renewable energy industry over the next few decades.

Fossil fuels. Globally, our reliance on them is tremendous. Fossil fuels provide us with the petroleum products that fuel our vehicles, heat our homes and power urban areas around the world. As the worlds population grows, the use of fossil fuels accelerates exponentially. We are using up the vast stores of oil and gas and we are killing our planet in the process. A life of convenience is destroying our world. Hopefully the cries about global warming will be heeded and we can begin to slowly reverse the damage that we have done. Our future is renewable, sustainable green energy sources. Why would we turn to green energy? The advantages of utilizing these sources of energy may never be fully realized if we dont start migrating toward them. There are some that point out the costs of some green energy alternatives. What the fail to point out is that, in most geographic locales, there is a green energy source that is viable. Farblinsen . Not every green energy is suitable for every location and choosing the appropriate green energy for that specific location is part of the solution to our energy woes and our tainted environment. The wide variety of green energy geothermal, solar, wave, wind, and hydropower are clean energy sources that dont negatively impact on our environment. This is diametrically opposed to the impact made by the plants producing fossil fuel power. There are over 50,000 producing coal plants around the globe and this number is growing to meet power demands. The amount of carbon dioxide released from these plants is toxic to our environment. While nuclear plants dont release much in the way of pollutants, the legacy we are left with the problem of spent rods that require contained storage for hundreds of years. This doesnt even take into account the possibly of another nuclear plant accident. The footprint these types of plants leave on our planet could end up being catastrophic.Although green energy plants do require maintenance, they require much less maintenance than conventional energy sources. Not only does the environment benefit but we also benefit by reduced costs and a healthier planet. Damenstiefel . Another advantage of green energy is that nature renews them continually. As long as the sun continues to shines and the winds still blow, we have the opportunity to harness them for our power. By gravitating toward these sources, our dependency on fossil fuels is reduced.Do we really want our legacy to be a society that ignored the planets health so that we could have what we want when we want it? How very selfish and myopic of us that we dont care what we leave for the future generations to deal with as long as our needs are met now. We have the power to change the path that we, as a society, are traveling down. The technology exists and, in for the most part, it is affordable. We all now have to apply pressure and make sure that our politicians develop the political will to move forward and adopt green energy to supplement, and eventually surpass, our power production. Then we, as individuals, need to loosen our purse strings and start utilizing green energy sources for our own needs. Little will happen without us, the population, ensuring that there is an impetus for change. While it is easy to talk the talk, it is not always easy to walk the walk. Will we be inconvenienced? You bet we will but it is a price that we must pay to effect change. Despite what we know about the damage that we are doing, little has changed. This cannot be acceptable. Finding and utilizing green energy is a solution to many of the social and environmental ills that plague us. Worldwide, we need to move away from fossil fuels and start using green energy. Countries can become self-reliant, as far as their energy needs go, by producing power from Natures bounty.

Global warming, is there anyone left that is not aware of it? Hopefully it is no too late to start reversing the damage. To that end, many people are looking at, and for, renewable green energy sources. One of the advantages of using green energy is that it emits not toxins into the environment or the atmosphere. Unlike fossil fuels, green energy is renewable and sustainable. If managed responsibly, we should be able to generate sufficient power to all users without worrying about the source running out. Though some green energy plants, like geothermal, can be expensive to construct, they require a lot less maintenance and operational costs can be quite low. When these facilities are built, they provide, through jobs, economic benefits to the area. In some instances, like wind farms, tourism can be a spin off effect. While there are several advantages to green energy, there are also disadvantages. Although green energy sources can be used to produce electricity, there is no consistency to the amount produced. Weather play a large part in production and extremely bad weather can bring production to a halt. An example is the reliance of an area on solar power. If there is several days of storm cloud cover, there is little solar power to harness. Some types of green energy, like wind farming, require a massive amount of land. This could mean that farmland used to grow edible crops is converted to energy farming. This is a concern, as countries need to grow food for domestic consumption and, in many countries, a great deal of farmland is lost to other uses every year. The fact that certain types of green energy sources are only suitable for certain areas is also a disadvantage. One example of this is that wave energy is only effective in very specific parts of the world. Facebook adverteren . Another example is that the capture of geothermal energy is only suited for parts of the globe that are geographically unstable.Areas that are unsuitable for the utilization of one type of green energy may well be suited to another. There is always a solution if there is a will. Wind turbines can be, and have been placed offshore when the land mass needed has not been available.Although we cannot control the weather, we can plan for the disruptions that it may bring. If cloud cover obscures the sun, there can be storage areas that would then kick in. Researcher continue to for new green energy to harness for our needs. Hawaii and Japan are, on a small scale, using an energy called ocean thermal energy. The temperatures in the water are harnessed to use as an energy source. Great care is needed with this technology so that the ocean ecosystem is not affected by changing temperatures. In the US eleven years ago, the percentage of green energy sources being harnessed was higher than it is today. We cannot only worry about exploring it in times of economic turmoil. wholesalers . We, as a global community must invest more resources into utilizing what nature provides renewable green energy!

We have, since the gasoline engine was invented, relied on petroleum-based products to fuel our cars. energy auditor courses . As we deplete the worlds oil supplying at an ever-increasing rate, we have to look at environmentally friendly alternatives. Oil is not a sustainable energy source that we can depend on for another century. As the world demands escalate, so does the depletion of this commodity. Why put off turning to other ways of powering our vehicles? We do have the technology to use water to power a car. Although the technology is not yet widely available on a commercial level, this is a futuristic dream come true.BMW, the German automaker, manufactured the first hydrogen-powered automobiles in the world. A limited quantity of 100 were made but Im sure that you can envision what it would be like if thousands of these were available to consumers The initial model namely the BMW Hydrogen 7 uses the body of the 760i model. programacion web . Once you pop the hood, you will notice that the engine is different since it uses gas and hydrogen. Although we have not abandoned our reliance on gasoline, we are starting to see automakers look to other, more environmentally friendly, means to power cars. Can you image the mileage if you were able to run your car on water? The engine is the single biggest obstacle to using water as an energy source instead of gasoline. There are hybrid cars, like the Prius, that run on both gasoline and electricity because of the innovation of fuel cells. Hydrogen combustion is still a young technology so we will see it evolve in the coming years. In order to prevent water from evaporating into compressed gases, it is stored in 30-gallon, highly insulated tanks so this does not evaporate. A pressure valve that opens when the pressure inside the tank exceeds 5 bars is a safety feature used on the tanks.BMWs innovation does not stop at the limited manufacture of the H7, the company has made another car that uses water to supplement its power. This car is called the H2R. In test, this vehicle achieve 285hp and reached a top speed of 185.5 mph. It accelerated from a stop to 60mph in just under 6 seconds. WOW! It is hoped that more of these green energy cars will be on the market in the next 10 years or so. We need to demand that automakers produce them and that governments demand them. Currently, our best option is an electric car. This type of vehicle is slowly claiming more and more of the market share. If we can use water to power a car, why not use solar? We are only limited by our imagination when it comes to harnessing the power of nature for our own use.

A very popular and most commonly known green energy source is solar energy. Much of the popularity stems from the fact the technology is within the financial reach of many homeowners. Part of the popularity is because the energy is renewable and using it for the generation of electricity does not harm the environment. Solar cells capture the suns rays and those rays are converted to power. A solar array can be mounted on a roof and the power generated can be used to supplement your existing power source. The three ways that solar energy is used are: using photovoltaic cells, active and passive. When you use passive solar, you are not converting the energy. You are merely directing it to the use you want. It is staying in the same form that it arrived inthe suns rays. What you are doing is capturing the heat or light from those rays to help heat space or supplementing your lighting using a variety of windows, light tunnels, etc. It is the design of the building that optimizes the use of the sun. Studies show that this optimization can significantly reduce the heating costs of a building. Using design to capture the suns rays means that you do not require as much electricity since your heating and air-conditioning units are running less often, which results in a cost saving on your power bills. Denver Roofing . Imagine if everyone did this!Using active solar converts the suns rays into heating or electrical energy by using processing. Since it relies on mechanical or conventional power to process the energy, you are still using fossil fuels. Active solar has limitations and is usually used on a relatively small scale. Photovoltaic cells can be used on a small or large scale to produce electricity from the suns light. This technology can power something as small as a calculation or something as large as a large complex. The array needed for a large complex requires a large area of land. The limitation of using solar energy is that is totally reliant of the weather. While energy can be harnessed when the sun is shining and the skies are clear, no energy can be harnessed at night or in inclement weather. When the system is not generating power, the energy needed is used from stored reserves or conventional power. There is a very popular solar car race that students compete in on a global basis. NASA (National Aeronautical Space Administration) uses solar panels to power satellites that they have launched into space. Several airports have implemented solar panels and are now harnessing this green energy to reduce costs. One kw of solar energy will produce 5 hours of electricity a day. More electricity will be generated when more solar panels are used. If there is adequate storage for the electricity, the electricity generated can last for days. There are many forms of green energy sources and solar energy is just one of them. Technology allows us to harness and utilize safe, clean, renewable sources of green energy that include biomass, wind, geothermal heat, water, and solar. All of these can and do help us reduce our dependency on fossil fuels. In order for us to make a massive difference, politicians have to climb on board and develop the political will to make a dramatic change. While they often talk the talk, few walk the walk. Very little changes are actually made.Countries like Germany and Japan have embraced solar energy. The governments have been proactive in encouraging the citizens to utilize solar, which has substantially decreased both countrys dependency on fossil fuels. The US is not among the top 10 countries embracing solar power. When will they climb aboard the green energy train?

What is biomass? Can Biomass be a source of green energy? It is indeed a source of green energy. Biomass is part of the process of the carbon cycle and is usually included in bioenergy. Bioenergy is a renewable source of energy derived from organic material like wood, animal waste, and plant matter and wood. The energy produced is then used to produce electricity and heat.

When using biomass, the byproduct of hot water or air is used to generate electricity. The most basic and common method of producing energy from biomass is direct combustion.

Beside electricity, biomass is used to generate hot air to be used for heat. To produce heat, biomass is used to heat water or air that is then pumped to buildings to heat them. On a smaller scale, there are biomass systems that are appropriate for residential use. You can use them for the provision of hot water and heat.

Because biomass can be used to produce heat and electricity, there are systems that produce both. This is called CHP or Combined Heat and Power systems. The benefit of this is that you are using one source of energy for dual purposes. Something that many consider to be good as you use one energy source for two purposes.

Biomass is capable of generating more energy than solar energy. The reason for this is that the collection of solar or wind energy requires a lot of space. Since biomass is produced from organic matter, there is no space required for collection purposes. Another reason is that both wind and solar depend on favorable weather to generate power however biomass is not weather dependant.

A huge benefit of using biomass is that electricity can be generated using organic waste. The savings from this aspect are tremendous. It can eliminate the cost of disposing of that waste and reduces dependency on fossil fuels. A green energy that disposes of waste and the resulting disposal costs could be a huge boon to jurisdictions that implemented the use of biomass plants.

A negative impact from the use of biomass is the emissions that result from the burning of the organic waste. Planting crops that are known to pull carbon dioxide from the atmosphere can neutralize the effect of these emissions.

The building of a biomass plant is expensive in the short term because of the cost of construction for the plant, fuel storage of the biomass, and a distribution system. The savings are realized in the long-term through the availability of free fuel and low plant maintenance costs.

Biomass is considered to be a green energy because of the renewable nature of the fuel and our ability to neutralize the emissions. The major challenge is to be able to locate suitable land to use to plant the necessary crops.

Creating our own source of green energy? A dream? Not at all! Imagine not having to pay electrical or heating bills anymore. Not to mention not having to buy gasoline for our cars. There are ways that we can reduce our dependency on fossil fuels and begin to live with sustainable, eco-friendly energy. For example, wind and solar energy can be used effectively to generate residential power. Commercial Energy Auditing . The equipment to harness and generate power is available and affordable. If you want to build a system, you can do the research and build one with relative ease or buy a complete system. In order to harness solar power, there are some supplies that you will need in order to construct a solar array, you will have to purchase solar panels, an inverter, a charge controller, a battery, electrical wiring and a structure to support the array. To build a wind energy station, you will need to develop a lit of necessary supplies. There are supply houses that will kits and also sell unpackaged supplies. If you can afford it and dont have the skill to build a solar or wind generator, this is a great option. Some even provide installation and that takes the guesswork out of the equation. Once they install, the system is functional. Before you rush out to get the materials or kits to build a turbine or array, make sure that you have the necessary space and, for wind turbines, a consistent wind speed of about 11mph. You will also need to ensure that you have any required permits and approvals. To get these, you may have to educate the proper authorities, and neighbors, about green energy sources. If you have neither the space nor the budget to harness solar or wind power, you can always look at biofuels as an option. Many countries are moving toward expanding production of biofuels. Typically, biofuels are made from harvesting crops such as sugar and corn. For your personal use, a farm is not necessary. You can make biofuels by recycling your own organic waste. Vegetable oil is one example of waste that can be used for fuel. In order to convert the oil to a biofuel, start by warming the oil to make it thin and then filter it using coffee filters. Next, you have to reduce the oil by boiling out the water. You want to boil it at 100 degrees Fahrenheit for a short time. To determine the amount of lye in the oil, process called titration is used. Then sodium hydroxide is mixed to make sodium methoxide. To convert vegetable oil to biofuel takes time and you must maintain the heat on the oil. This is the only way to produce pure fuel. Once you have achieved that, you can let it cool down. How much biofuel is you produce depends on how much waste vegetable oil you start with. You will see the results and then can gauge how much more you need to make. If glycerin is still present, you will need to refilter the oil.Now you have produced your very own biofuel! By making your own biofuel, you become less dependent on gasoline in its many forms. Why dont more people do this? It is a matter of time and the power of conviction. Some simply want convenience and prefer to take the path of least inconvenience. Some dont have the time. Before using your biofuel, discuss the matter with a qualified mechanic and do your research!! You dont want to ruin engines by taking shortcuts.
